Nightshifted was a great start to Alexander's Edie Spence series. I really liked the supernatural world that Alexander built full of vampires, shifters, and even zombies, and I really enjoyed her original idea of having a special hospital section that catered to these supernatural beings. Edie is a very well developed character in the book, and I liked how she was easy to relate to by having some very real problems of money, family, and normal worries mixed in with her supernatural focused job. I also liked that she was very real not having supernatural powers of her own but trying to do the right thing by helping Anna even though it gets her into trouble. The book's secondary characters also really add to the story. Nightshifted is full of many twists and turns keeping the reader's attention from beginning to end. Overall Nightshifted was a great read that I would most definitely recommend, and I am looking forward to reading Edie's next adventure.
