The Brim Reaper is the second book by Vallere that I have read, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first. Once again Samantha Kidd finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation, and naturally things become chaotic. The one thing that really stands out for me in this series is the characters, and The Brim Reaper brings the characters that I have come to enjoy back for another adventure. Samantha is a great leading character, but I really have come to enjoy Vallere's secondary characters like Eddie, Cat, Dante, and Nick just as much. These secondary characters really add to the story, and they all really compliment the Samantha character in their own way. Vallere delivers another intriguing mystery in this installment of the series, and it kept me guessing until the end. Overall The Brim Reaper was an enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading another Samantha Kidd adventure.
