This book is the third book that I have read by this author, and I found it to be an engaging read. Oli finds himself in two cases unexpectedly: the first when an old informant shows up and the second when an old friend drags him into a blackmail scheme. Indridason delivers a compelling read full of many twists and turns as Oli tries to remain objective in a case in which he is involved. Trying to justify his actions to a fellow colleague, Oli's inner turmoil as he questions his friend's motives makes the case harder. His second case makes him question his typical reaction to young repeat offenders by showing him the depth of pain of a young innocent. Black Skies is a dark book that takes Oli into a world when the innocent are the ones that get hurt. Overall Black Skies was a compelling read that captures the reader's attention and never lets go.
Received a copy of Black Skies through Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.
