Kleypas's Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor was a great Christmas read full of hope, family, and the true spirit of Christmas bringing people together. The book begins with Mark becoming the guardian of his niece when his sister unexpectedly dies. Little Holly hasn't spoken since her mother's death, and a toy store owner, Maggie, is the first person to get the little girl to talk again. Kleypas does a great job at developing both Mark and Maggie, and I enjoyed reading their journey of overcoming their fears as this sweet little girl changes both of their lives for the better. I had actually read the book that comes after this one in the series, and I really enjoyed returning to Friday Harbor and the Nolan family. Overall Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor was an amazing read that I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a sweet and enjoyable holiday read.
