Fool's Assassin is the first book that I have read by Hobb so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I will admit that it took me a little bit to catch up on Fitz's past and his relationships with all of the other characters, but Hobb explains things here rather well so you don't need to have read previous works to read this one. I found that with each chapter I became more and more invested in these characters especially Fitz and Bee. I also liked the alternating of perspectives between the two later in the book. The book has many twists and turns as well as introduces some interesting secondary characters to keep the reader's attention. Overall Fool's Assassin proved to be an amazing read that I would most certainly recommend. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
